Crystal Kasselman (Project Management)

Crystal joined the professional conference organizing industry in 1992 and boasts an uninterrupted professional career in this industry for the last 17 years.

The only way to really understand how to organize events is to start from the bottom which is exactly how Crystal started from preparing badges, answering the phone, to PA to the MD, to Conference Co-ordinator, Senior Co-Ordinator, Operations manager and finally General Manager. Experience most certainly does deliver results.

Crystal has served on the South African Association for the conference industry as Treasurer, belonged as a Patron Member of SAACI, a member of ICCA as well as an active member of Cape Town Tourism.

Amongst her success stories, Crystal was project manager for many large international conferences the likes of The International Convention and Congress Association (ICCA), International Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, International Association of Ports and Harbours, International Radiology Congress and many more, click here for full list of credentials and projects Crystal has been involved in.

Crystal brings a wealth of knowledge of systems and procedures, project management, HR, secretarial administration, client liaison, financial management, PR and marketing to Centeq Events.

Juanita de Lange (Registration and Finance Management)

Juanita's career in the PCO industry started in 1998, as a bookkeeper, implementing new systems in the accounting department to ensure smooth and professional budgeting processes and financial reporting for each conference.

In 2001, Juanita headed up a Booking office Department (Registration, accommodation, social events, airport transfers etc). Implementing registration procedures, setting up of databases and online registration processes. In 2004, Juanita became actively involved in Abstract Management System and trained staff to handle this critically important aspect of association conferencing. At a recent conference the system processed 650 online abstract submissions, submitting to the online review process and managing of the abstracts for the Chairpersons evaluation, and sorting the information ready for the printing of an abstract book and CD.

All reporting, data integrity, reconciliations, payments and correspondence to delegates, hotels, suppliers is processed through the department managed by Juanita.

Lerisha obtained a National Diploma in Travel and Tourism Management from the Durban Institute of Technology, where she was awarded the KZN Tourism Bursary for three consecutive years. Lerisha’s wide range of experience in conference management, air departure control, vehicle rental and heading up planning committees has equipped her with a variety of skills which she applies in her position as Conference Assistant for Centeq.

Lerisha also currently is the Branch Secretary for the South African Association for the Conference Industry (SAACI).

Damien Kasselman (email: damien@centeqevents.co.za )
Damien has grown up in the conference industry and worked for Global Conferences Africa in the central services division headed up by Juanita de Lange.

With 6 years of experience working on the database system Events Pro, Damien’s knowledge and expertise adds value to Centeq Events’ registration team. Damien also travelled and worked in the UK in the Sporting, health and fitness arena as customer relations, giving him further exposure and adding to his delegate liaison skills.

Zimkita Bavuma (email: admin1@allevents.co.za )

Zimkita has joined Centeq Events in her capacity as an internship student from CPUT with the view to being employed once graduated. She is studying a 3 year  Event management course and is handling all delegate and customer care functions. She has excelled and was recently involved in the registration process of the prestigious Design Indaba conference which attracted over 1600 delegates which Zimkita was very involved in the speaker registrations and group registrations as well as the onsite registration process.

She is contracted on an ongoing basis to assist on projects in between studies.
